JUNE IS NATIONAL SAFETY MONTH

"Make a Difference" is the theme of the National Safety Council’s 2008 National Safety Month (NSM), stressing the urgent need to reverse an increase in accidental deaths and injuries. This June, NSM will focus on the leading causes of preventable deaths - motor vehicle collisions, poisonings from overdoses, and falls. The annual observance will also promote emergency preparedness.

Our on-line NSM Planner’s Page offers materials to help employers and others prepare for the first week of NSM, June 2-6. Check this page frequently in the weeks ahead, as we will update it with additional tools and information.

NSM is just one way for businesses to demonstrate their concern for safety and health to their employees. NSC membership is another. If you’re not already a Council member, we urge you to check out members’ exclusive educational and other benefits, at NSM and throughout the year.
